Neurodivergent writers can be anxious about their writing having been told they were “not good writers” at some point in their lives. Let go of your anxiety and let me help you with kindness and step-by-step assistance without judgement.
I am an interdisciplinary award-winning author with years of experience as a college writing professor in STEM education and have helped dozens of academic authors with their manuscripts. I specialize in neurodivergent authors (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) who struggle with clarity and organization in their work. I also have experience with authors for who English is a second language who need extra help to clarify their ideas in English. I am patient, kind, and empathetic and willing to help you improve your manuscript.
Students: I taught writing to engineering students at the Colorado School of Mines from 2014 to 2023 in the Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences department and I enjoyed helping students develop their ideas for research and turn them into high-quality papers.
Faculty: I edited manuscripts for published articles and books for faculty and can help with a range of tasks as well as provide feedback.
• Organization and clarity
• Formatting, headers, numbering, citations, bibliography
• Incorporating reviewer and editor feedback
If you are interested in working with me on a project, please send me a message using the contact form below or email me directly at purplekrobert@gmail.com. You can also fill out the Services Contact form below and/or schedule and online or phone appointment with me to discuss your project. I look forward to hearing from you!
I provide one-on-one tutoring and consulting to students and faculty that goes beyond editing your document. My goal is to help you learn what aspects of writing are difficult for you but also to help you learn in your own unique neurodivergent way how to overcome these barriers to improve your writing over time. Tutoring sessions take place remotely and should be factored into writing schedules to meet deadlines.
I have a wide-range of work experiences over decades that I leverage to help your organization improve its culture of neuro-inclusion so that everyone thrives. I have years of experience in occupational safety and a passion for the work and offer safety consultations, writing and program development, and audits.
I am an experienced qualitative and arts-based researcher who can help you set up your study and serve as an investigator or researcher if needed. Please reach out and let me know about your project and how I can help. From there, we can create an estimate and contract based on your needs.
I started oil painting at age 10 and have decades of painting experience doing murals, faux finishing, and color consulting. I am happy to discuss creating a custom oil painting or other piece of visual art for your home or business!
I prefer to offer estimates for services based on how long the work will take and the expertise needed. However, I understand clients need something to start with. Below is an overview of hourly fees that I based my estimates on.
Sliding scale: I provide discounts to students, adjunct faculty, and those with disabilities and/or who are veterans. Documentation is required for discounts (student ID, etc.)
Hourly fee scale for estimates (approximately):
I require a down payment of 50% of the estimate to begin your project. Depending on the duration of the work, progress payments may be required and will be explicitly included in the contract. Final payment of the balance is due at the completion of the work.
You can pay me directly through your bank account or use PayPal.
Often the writing process takes longer than writers expect, and you may find you benefit from other services that require changes to our original contract. I will clearly communicate any changes or concerns immediately so we can both adjust our expectations.
1. Fill out the editing in-take form (below) and email it to me.
2. I will provide an estimate for the work based on your form.
3. Provide a down payment for services.
4. Do you need one-on-one tutoring or consulting with your writing?
5. Receive your edited PDF draft based on the services you selected.
6. Another round of editing, tutoring or consulting? (Change fee & additional costs)
7. Final payment due at end of services when final document is delivered.
Please let me know if you have specific disabilities that impact your writing experience so I can help you address these. Knowing your specific unique needs also prepares me for your document so I can better provide you with the type of help you need. Please also include any anxiety or other issues you experience with writing so I can help make our relationship more fruitful and enjoyable despite your stress. Know that I will not judge you!! I am here to help.
